Our Mission
Advancing Hypnotherapy through
Community Affiliation Education Awareness
To inform and educate the public in regard to the nature and characteristics of hypnotherapy and self-hypnosis, its various applications and practices, its innumerable beneficial potentials, and the elimination of misconceptions and falsehoods related to hypnosis and self-hypnosis.
- To establish certain standards of quality, principles, and a Code of Ethics for its members, for the practice of all forms of hypnosis.
- To promote the exchange of information and knowledge concerning hypnosis and its many unique and diverse applications.
- To concern itself with legislation related to hypnosis and hypnotherapy, including laws, statutes, and ordinances pertaining to the certification, licensing and practice of professional hypnosis and self-hypnosis in order to assist legislation in:
- a) The formulation of fair, practical, unbiased legislation based on truth and fact.
- b) The elimination of misguided, prejudicial and improper laws that may have been based upon ignorance, bias, and superstition.
- c) To promote a spirit of friendliness, sociability, and mutual cooperation between I.A.C.H. members, guests and the public.
Brief History of I.A.C.H.
- 1967: Founded as California Professional Hypnotist Association
- 1971: Incorporated as non-profit organization in the State of California
- 1989: Name changed to International Association of Clinical Hypnotherapy .
