Advancing Hypnotherapy through

Community, Affiliation, Education and Awareness

To inform and educate the public in regard to the nature and characteristics of hypnotherapy and self-hypnosis, its various applications and practices, its innumerable beneficial potentials and the elimination of misconceptions and falsehoods related to hypnosis and self-hypnosis.
To establish certain standards of quality, principles and a Code of Ethics for its members and for the practice of all forms of hypnosis.
To promote the exchange of information and knowledge concerning hypnosis and its many unique and diverse applications.
To concern itself with legislation related to hypnosis and hypnotherapy including laws, statutes and ordinances pertaining to the certification, licensing and practice of professional hypnosis and self-hypnosis in order to assist legislation in:

a) The formulation of fair, practical, unbiased legislation based on truth and fact.

b) The elimination of misguided, prejudicial and improper laws that may have been based upon ignorance, bias and superstition.

c) To promote a spirit of friendliness, sociability, and mutual cooperation between IACH members, guests and the public.

1971: Incorporated as non-profit organization in the State of California
1989: Name changed to International Association of Clinical Hypnotherapy
